What to bring to your Canadian Immigration Medical exam:

When you come for your Immigration Medical Exam appointment, please bring:
Government Issued ID – must bring 1 of the following:Original valid passport (Preferred) or a copy certified by a Canadian Visa OfficeNational ID CardCanadian Driver’s licenseRefugee Protection Claimant DocumentRefugee travel documentAcknowledgement of Claim and Notice to Return for InterviewThe Interim Federal Health CertificateEyeglasses or contact lenses (if you wear them).Any medical reports or test results that you have for any previous or existing medical conditions.A list of your current medications.if you received the Medical Report form (IMM 1017E), please bring that with you as well.

 

What to expect when you come for your Immigration Medical Exam?

A photo will be taken in the clinic. You do not need to bring a passport photo.Please drink water prior to your appointment, since you will need to drop off a urine sample if you are 5 years of age and older. Menstruation will not affect your exam.Your complete immigration medical exam is done on-site. This includes X-ray and blood/urine test, if required, depending on your age.You are not required to fast prior to your appointment.We use emedical to send your reports directly and promptly to IRCC within 5-10 days. At the end of your appointment, you will be given an information sheet, which has your photo and case number. You can use this for tracking your file.

How do I book my appointment?

Do I need to travel to another location for X-ray and blood test?
The complete immigration medical exam is done on site, in the same building. No additional travel required.

When can I book my immigration medical exam?
IRCC will send you instructions on when to complete your immigration medicals. Once you have received this medical request, you can contact us anytime to book your appointment. Some applications have a deadline anywhere between 30 – 90 days. Make sure you adhere to the deadline while booking your medical exam with a panel physician.Do you use E-medical?
Yes. We use e-medical to submit your results electronically to IRCC within 5-10 days.

Do I need to bring photos with me?
We take your picture in the clinic itself, at no extra charge. You do not need to bring any additional photos with you.

Do I need to fast before my blood test & medical appointment?
You can eat before your appointment. No fasting is required. Drink plenty of water before your visit, as you are required to provide a urine sample.

I am on my period. Can I still continue with my medical exam?
Yes. Ladies on their monthly cycle can complete the full exam and are not required to reschedule their medicals.

Can I get everything needed for my exam at your clinic?
Yes, our clinic does everything on site including X-ray, blood work and urine testing.

How do I pay for my medical exams?
Payment for services can be made in CASH ONLY. We do not offer debit or credit card payment options at this time.

How long does it take submit the results to IRCC?
We use e-medical to submit the results directly to IRCC in 5 – 10 days.

Can I receive a copy of my report?
Yes. You can request a copy of your results for a fee of $20. Please visit our office (typically after 5-10 days of your examination) along with the ID provided during the medical examination to receive a copy of the results.

I am pregnant. Can I still proceed with my Immigration Medical Exam?
Yes, you can proceed with your immigration medical exam but the doctor will advise you on the risk of completing your X-ray. You may choose to complete your X-ray after having your baby.Do
