PRICING

Exam costs vary by type:

  • CUAET (Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel) Immigration Medicals — $175
  • Standard Medical Exam — $250
  • Streamlined medical exam — $250

After the exam our doctors will provide you with a requisition, and you’ll need to have a chest X-ray ($50) and blood work done ($105).

Do I have to pay for the exam?

Yes. Alberta Health and Wellness and other benefit plans do not cover the cost of the immigration medical examination. We accept cash, Debit, Visa and MasterCard. Also, you will be required to pay for your laboratory work and X-rays separately to those providers.

How long does it take to get the results?

Once we have all of your results and they are normal, we submit the exam to CIC. Upon completion of all of your exams, Medicentres will submit all of your results to CIC within 4-7 days. If you are concerned about meeting a deadline to have your examination submitted to CIC, the CIC uses the day you have your exam and not the day the exam was submitted. Once your exam has been submitted to CIC it usually takes them about 4-6 weeks to update it into your application file. This is why CIC uses the day you have your exam.

Does Medicentres perform Upfront Medicals?

Yes. These are medicals performed when you have not yet applied to CIC.

Is the doctor a female physician?

Yes, we have both male and female physicians certified to perform immigration medicals.

What should I bring to my appointment?

You may eat and drink prior to all of your exams if you wish. Please bring the following items to your medical exam: All of your immigration documents, Passport and photo identification, eye glasses and/or hearing aids if required, a book or hobby, quiet toys for children. Please also bring a list of current medications you are taking and any prior medical conditions from your family doctor.

Please note that there’s no requirement to bring a personal photo, as we will be taking your picture on-site.
