About the exam
This exam is designed to get an understanding of your general health and determine if there are any major health concerns. Please bring a list of any medications you’re currently taking and notify us of any past or current medical conditions that required treatment from a physician specialist.
If you plan to visit Canada for six months or less, you are usually not required get a medical examination unless you are planning to work in the public health sector. A medical exam will be required if you plan to visit Canada for more than 6 months.

Medical examination includes any or all of the following:
a physical examination
a mental examination
a review of past medical history
laboratory tests
diagnostic tests
and a medical assessment of records respecting the applicant.
You will need to bring to your appointment the following documents:
Any Immigration Documents you may have (Medical Report Form)
If applying for an Up Front/Express Entry no Immigration Documents are needed
Alberta Health Care Card (if you have]
Passport, Refugee Documents or Government Issued ID (Drivers License)
Bring all Medications you take (Bottles please)
Eyeglasses or Contact Lenses if you wear them
$250 Physicians Fee (Cheapest in Edmonton), $50 for Chest X-ray and $105 Blood work

Interpreter if English is limited or you do not speak English
